Duke and Trinity College Presidents

The 14 presidents of Duke Unviersity and its predecessors have steered the institutions through calm and stormy waters, helping to transform it from a one-room schoolhouse into the world-class, research university that it is today.  The early leaders of the Union Institute, Normal College, and Trinity College would probably be shocked and amazed at what they helped build, and for their contributions, all past presidents of Duke are honored in the Gothic Reading Room.
