Blomquist: The Professor, the Garden, and the Legacy
Introduction
This exhibition, on display in the Chappell Family Gallery, Duke University Library, from June-October 2018, introduced the audience to to Dr. Hugo L. Blomquist, the first professor of Botany at Duke University, and to the H.L. Blomquist Garden of Native Plants, an urban oasis of woodland and sanctuary for over a thousand species of our native flora, named after Blomquist in 1968. This website contains some history about Dr. Blomquist, as well as a timeline about the history of the garden, and a video of the garden, created for the exhibition.
