Memories and Mementoes

Many people collected mementoes from battlefields. Others created scrapbooks, saved souvenirs, and took photographs to remind themselves of the war and to preserve their memories for the future. These memories live on today in the collections of the David M. Rubenstein Rare Book and Manuscript Library and other archives and museums seeking to document the past through the eyes of its people.
