Project 2, 2021: William Hanley (Staff Lounge, Perkins Library)
This exhibition of nature photography was installed in the Perkins Library Staff Lounge in December 2021.
William (Will) Hanley currently resides in Durham, North Carolina, where he works as an Electronic Resources Management Specialist for Duke University Libraries. Will is a semi-professional nature photographer who loves to show the artistic beauty of nature. In particular, he focuses on lines, shapes, colors, textures, curves, shades, and lighting as he meditates during photo walks. "See Nature as Art" is his motto.
To date, Will has been featured in four photography exhibits at Duke University and one in the Durham County Library System. Also, many of his photos are currently available to view on the Instagram page for the Duke University Student Wellness Center. When it comes to photography, Will's passion is nature, mindfulness and wellness.
When not enjoying nature and photography, Will loves to watch movies by Hayao Miyazaki, watch Seattle Seahawks football games, play video game RPGs, and read various manga series.
