Conservation Services can treat many things from the collections. But sometimes objects are physically too big, or the treatment needed will be time intensive. Funds from the Adopt-a-Book Program enable us to have these materials treated off site.
This blueprint had deteriorating tape and was folded and severely creased multiple times. Conservators at the Northeast Document Conservation Center in Andover, Massachusetts, removed the tape, cleaned the surface, flattened the paper, and filled missing pieces with dyed Japanese tissue.
