One of the simplest custom enclosures that Conservation Services makes is called a “four flap” or “tuxedo” box. These are created from two pieces of conservation-quality card stock. These boxes provide protection against abrasion and light and are often chosen for books with nineteenth-century publisher’s bindings, or those with original publisher’s dust jackets.
