Manual of human anatomy
Nineteenth-century publisher’s bindings tend to be very brittle and difficult to repair. This book exhibited a lot of damage including broken sewing, a damaged spine, split joints, and detached pages. The original spine was carefully removed, the detached pages and sewing repaired, and a new spine created from new cloth and paper dyed to match the original cover. The original spine fragments were reattached to preserve the titling. This can now be used without causing further damage.
