Student Book Contest
Juried Student Artists' Book Exhibition
As part of the Book + Art: Artists' Books at Duke & UNC festival, undergraduate students from Duke University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill were invited to participate in a juried exhibition of student artists' books at UNC-Chapel Hill Hanes Art Center. Works selected for the exhibition were displayed in the John and June Allcott Undergraduate Gallery in Hanes Art Center at UNC-Chapel Hill in January 2011.
Congratulations to all the Duke and UNC student artists who entered their work in our student book arts competition. First prize went to Little Red Riding Hood, by Ariel Rudolph (UNC). The two finalists were Guama, by Justine Tiu (Duke) and Mommy, by Anjali Mathew (UNC). All entries can be viewed online on the Sloane Art Library's flickr page.
Rules
- The exhibit is open to undergraduate students from Duke University and UNC-Chapel Hill.
- All entries must be original work by the artist.
- There is no entry fee.
- Limit three entries per person.
- Completed entries are due by Dec. 17th, 2010.

Procedure for Entry
Work should be hand delivered or submitted by mail to one of the addresses below. Please submit a separate, completed entry form for each work submitted. Download entry form as Word Document or PDF.

Delivery, Shipment and Return of Work
We strongly encourage participants to drop off works at one of the above listed locations. Shipment of work is the sole responsibility of the artist. UNC and Duke are not responsible for damaged materials during shipment. Please be sure to package materials safely and securely. At the end of the exhibition, participants will be contacted by email with instructions for retrieving work.
Liability and Responsibility
Sloane Art Library will make every effort to ensure the safe handling and keeping of all entries, but does not assume responsibility for damage or loss. Works will be exhibited in the John and June Allcott Undergraduate Gallery behind locked doors. Acceptance of an entry assumes permission for Sloane Art Library to photograph and use or reproduce images for publicity of the collection or marketing for any exhibitions, events, websites, and/or digital repository. By signing the entry form, entrants agree to all terms and conditions set forth by Sloane Art Library.
