Archie Boston Jr.
Born in Clewiston, Florida, in 1943, Archie Boston, Jr., is a graphic artist, professor, and advertising professional based primarily in Los Angeles. After graduating from Chouinard Art Institute in Los Angeles with a BFA in Advertising Design, Boston and his brother Brad Boston formed their own ad and design agency, Boston & Boston Design, in 1967. Beginning in 1969, he worked for eight years at the ad agency Botsford Ketchum, where he worked with clients like Pentel Pens. Simultaneously, Boston founded Archie Boston Graphic Design. He also taught design in the Department of Art at California State University Long Beach, serving as department chair for twelve years. Boston was the first Black person elected president of the Los Angeles Art Directors Club, where he served two terms.
