Vaccination: 300 Years of Debate

Like the larger community, college and university campuses have had to face and respond to infectious disease outbreaks. Since March 2020, those on Duke’s campus have seen signs posted on the importance of wearing masks and washing hands.  Past issues of the Duke newspaper, the Duke Chronicle, provide examples of how Duke responded to previous experiences with diseases like polio and measles. Campaigns to urge students, staff, and faculty to receive their annual flu vaccine include Duke stars, like Coach K.
