Exhibit Programing

Produced by the Rare Book, Manuscript, and Special Collections Library, Flesh & Metal, Bodies & Buildings is part of a cycle of events commemorating the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks at Duke University. An exhibit opening, reception, and panel discussion will be held on Thursday, September 8th in the Mary Duke Biddle Rare Book Room from 4:00-6:00. Panelists include photographer Jonathan Hyman, Pedro Lasch from the Department of Art, Art history and Visual Studies, Duke Trinity Senior Associate Dean Kevin Moore, the author of Critical Views of September 11 and, Laurie Patton, Dean of the Trinity College of Arts & Sciences at Duke, and founder of the Religion, Conflict and Peacebuilding Initiative at Emory University.

Artistic and Visual Responses to 9/11 and Other Disasters, a conversation between Jonathan Hyman, Pedro Lasch and, Professor Gennifer Weisenfeld takes place on September 9th, from 10am-12pm, in room 240 at the John Hope Franklin Center, 2204 Erwin Road (Contact: r.sikorski@duke.edu).
