This exhibit is the culmination of nearly two years of research and artifact collection.  This work was only made possible by the dedication and support of a great number of individuals across Duke University, including co-advisors to this project Dr. Janie Long and Professor Raymond Gavins, and the indispensable staff of Duke University Libraries, including Meg Brown, Amy McDonald, Kelly Wooten, Laura Micham, Valerie Gillispie, Mark Zupan, Michael Daul, and Rachel Penniman.

This exhibit also includes an oral history component meant to capture the voices of Duke’s LGBTQ past and would not have been possible without the expertise of Barbara Lau and hard work of Meda Connor, as well as the courage of those individuals who were willing to share their stories. Also special thanks to the University Archives, the E. Rhodes and Leona B. Carpenter Foundation, the Center for Sexual and Gender Diversity, Blue Devils United and the Sallie Bingham Center for Women's History & Culture for their institutional support and contributed resources.
