Douglass L. Alligood Papers, 1963-2013
Douglass L. Alligood was one of the first African Americans to become an executive in the advertising industry in the United States, working at BBDO and RCA, as well as UniWorld, one of the oldest minority-owned advertising agencies in the nation. This collection spans the years 1963-2013 and consists primarily of research reports focused on ethnic minority (African American, Asian, Hispanic) and youth consumer market demographics and media issues. The collection also includes newspaper clippings from 1966-1969, a 1963 audio recording, “Adventures in Negro History.”, and a biographical sketch of Douglass Alliigood. Some of the companies referenced in the materials include BBDO, RCA, Chrysler and Pepsi.
